Spiral stairs lead from the patio up to the roof terrace that has a wooden gazebo, and there are superb views of the coastline and the Isola di Cirella.

Approx 1 hr & 40 minutes  (110km ) from Lamezia Terme airport, Cirella is the only hamlet of Diamante, in the province of Cosenza and located on the Strada Statale 18 , between Grisolia Lido and Diamante. Opposite the town is the island of Cirella , together with the nearby island of Dino.

It was thriving town at the time of the Magna Graecia and is rich in archaeological interests. Particularly spectacular is the ancient, ruined citadel from where you can enjoy an extraordinary view.
The ancient tower of Cirella Vecchia, built to spot the enemy coming from the sea with remains still standing. Covered by a flourishing Mediterranean scrub, in the summer months it is a favourite destination for tourists.  After the last destruction at the hands of Napoleon in 1806, the city was built near the sea, in the shadow of the ruins.
Cirella gives its name to the small island that emerges opposite the stretch of beach. The seabed around the island, gives rise to occasional and important archaeological finds and the presence of posidonia, an aquatic plant, forms a real underwater prairie.

The marina town of Cirella has some local shops including pharmacy, doctor, fruit-&-veg, meat & fish shops, cafés & restaurants, DIY/garden/tool shops etc, and also nightclub.

Approx. 200m along the main SS18 is a supermarket and the town of Diamante is a short drive north.  Diamante is a fully serviced town with shops, restaurants, banks and all services plus it is well known for its murals on the walls of the buildings. In September is hosts the famous Pepperoncino festival.

Close by are other interesting villages  for eg. Guardia Piemontese, Diamante, Belvedere Marittimo  to name but a few. Belvedere also being well serviced with shops, café bars, restaurants and a long stretch of beach and promenade.

The larger town of Paola is approx. 30 drive south and here there is a captivating mix of ancient and modern – from the Sanctuary and birth place of San Francesco di Paola to the amenities required for modern living eg, shops, bars, restaurants, a long stretch of beach with beach bars and lidos in the summer months and a number of festivals hosted throughout the year. Cirella is also conveniently positioned to explore many other traditional villages and the stunning National Park of La Sila is approx. 1 ¾  hour drive away, where you can take advantage of the many activities that are on offer, including walking, pony trekking, quad bikes and in the winter months, skiing.
